PDA used for taking orders
The PDA is used to take orders at the table. Just about any PDA that runs Microsoft Pocket PC 2003 or later will work. It is recommended that you get a PDA that has the ability to have a backup battery charging in the cradle while you are using the PDA to take orders. This will give you more flexibility if you do not get a chance to charge your PDA in between customers.

Computer Used for Hosting Windows Server

However, if you only have one PDA, and you are able to dedicate a Windows XP Pro computer for the Wireless POS software, then this might be an acceptable workaround.

Aldelo For Restaurants Wireless is an always on wireless POS solution utilizing Windows Terminal Services to deliver fast and reliable operations. Due to the system requirements, you must have always on wireless connectivity in order to use our wireless POS solution. This is very easy to achieve since the cost of Wireless Access Points are fairly inexpensive and its range is usually quite acceptable.
What Happens When I Run Out of Battery
?
Aldelo For Restaurants Wireless is safe from battery outages, device damages or out of range issues. Since we use Windows Terminal Services to process transactions directly from the server, all actions are performed against Windows Server account. If you get disconnected due to any issues, simply login to resume your session. Better yet, we provide an auto-connect utility to help you automatically connect in case of minor connection drops.
What Happens When the Connection to the Server is Dropped?
If your PDA session ever disconnect, the natively installed auto-connect utility will help you auto connect and logon to windows server account without any user intervention. Additionally, you can configure our auto-connect utility to operate in kiosk mode, preventing users from exiting the wireless POS software altogether.
The auto connect feature is very useful to conserve battery power as well. If you are not using the PDA device but need to carry with you. You may turn off the PDA to conserve battery. When you need to use the PDA at a later time, simply turn the PDA power on and the auto-connect utility will automatically re-establish server connection within few seconds.
How are the Kitchen & Bar Items Sent From the Wireless PDA Device?
Aldelo For Restaurants Wireless automatically send all kitchen and bar items to your appropriate kitchen/bar departments directly from your PDA device. You do not need to walk into kitchen to hand deliver orders.
Can I Print Receipt to Mobile Wireless Printer for Faster Customer Service?
Yes, all you have to do is configure the Mobile Wireless Printer to communicate with your Wireless Server. Any receipt print request submitted from the wireless PDA will be rerouted to your designated Mobile Wireless printer. This allows your server to carry a wireless printer and wireless PDA together, and print customer receipt upon request immediately.
Can I Create the Original Order on PDA and Edit on a POS Station?
Yes, any order created on PDA can be recalled at the POS. This is true for orders created at the POS to be recalled on the PDA (If order type is supported by the PDA).
How Do I Settle Orders Created on Wireless PDA?
Settling orders created on PDA is very simple. Simply recall the order at a POS station and settle the order accordingly.
